What is the proper name for the current form of culture? The various existing names fail to grasp its essence accurately. For example, sociopolitical terms such as "late capitalism" or "consumerism" ignore the fact that the characteristics of this culture equally apply to proponents of opposing approaches such as socialism or veganism. It seems to me that the two most significant elements of this culture are technology and narcissism, which are combined into a system that organizes all aspects of life. In other words, the culture in which we now live idolizes the pleasant feelings of individuals about themselves and the means to achieve these feelings. This distinct and clear-cut character can be expressed using the simple term "techno-narcissistic culture," or in short, technarcissism.
