Genuine good deeds are good not due to ethics, which are always relative and differ according to place and person — but simply because in hell, any act that destroys suffering without somehow leading to new suffering is the sole subversive that exists, in that it disrupts, even if only momentarily, the smooth progression of the forces of evil.
