Entertainment is the final solution to the question of man's meaningful time: an industrialized system for the mass annihilation of seconds, minutes, and hours that could have been lived in, if it had not been for the fear of the pain of living without anesthetics. One who has always submitted to entertainment and asks himself, at an old age, how come all those years have suddenly passed, is like a kind elderly German who has long since forgotten his thrilling time in the Hitler Youth organization and now sincerely wonders how come all the Jews have disappeared.
